The story of the film dependant on Terrorism in Pakistan. In the film “Waar” waar started from terrorists when they were planning about a major terrorist attack on Pakistan.

The film is a stylized interpretation of events surrounding the war on terror in Pakistan,[6][12] which includes the attack on a Police Academy at Lahore in 2009.[13]

Major Mujtaba (played by Shaan) is a ex- Pakistan Army officer, who took an early retirement from the service. The story involves a counter-terrorism function being performed in the Northwestern tribal region of Pakistan, led by Ehtesham (played by Hamza Ali Abbasi) and harmonized by an intelligence officer played by Ayesha. Ehtesham and the intelligence officer come to know of a major enemy attack that can only be countered with the support of Major Mujtaba.
